The Perth Fire Spinners and Circus Group is a collective of likeminded people that meet weekly at Hyde Park, in Perth, for the purpose of teaching and learning fire spinning, object manipulation and circus arts. Each person in the group is both a student and a teacher, as we learn from each other and teach our skills to anyone wanting to learn.

The group started in 2002 as a gathering of friends at a Leederville house. When the group got too big, the then organiser, Cormac, moved the group to the north side of Hyde Park, where it remains.

While a few people remain from those early days, over the years, many people have come and gone. The skills of the group vary from complete beginners to professional fire performers. From time to time we also have international performers come and jam with us while they're staying in Perth.

Anyone is welcome to join the Perth Fire Group. All you need to do is come down to Hyde Park on a Tuesday night from 7:30pm onwards (until about 10:30ish). Just bring yourself, a smile and any fire/circus/practise props you have. We teach for free and can show you how to make your own practise equipment. All we ask in return is that you teach others what you have learnt, make anyone new feel welcome, respect the environment in which we meet, put safety first and respect those around you.

If you want to learn, while having a laugh and meeting great new people, come on down and say 'hi'!

SpunOut : Fire and Circus Festival

SpunOut is the only fire and circus arts festival in Western Australia. The festival is now in it's 20th year, with workshops galore, performances and crazy antics throughout.

The main focus is on fire arts skills, with workshops catering to all levels, from beginners to professional performers. There are also plenty of workshops in circus based skills, such as unicycling, hula hooping, stilt walking, juggling and acrobalance. We also add a bunch of other workshops, like henna and screen printing, just for fun.

SpunOut has a mix of teachers from Western Australia, interstate and overseas. The mix always changes, depending on who’s heading our way from year to year.

Your event ticket includes all your accommodation, meals, workshops, activities, shows and fire fuel.
